Pauh Kijang Sun Burl wood
RM200.00
Pauh Kijang wood comes from Irvingia malayana, a Malaysian hardwood that’s underrated but very practical for knife handles and saya. It’s medium to heavy, giving a solid feel while still easy to shape. When properly dried, it’s stable and not prone to cracking, suitable for kitchen use. The color ranges from light brown to reddish brown, and the grain is what makes it special. Depending on the cut, it can show patterns that look like sun rays or even zebra-like lines, giving each piece a unique look. It sands and finishes nicely, taking oil well and bringing out a natural sheen. With proper sealing, it holds up well in a kitchen, making it a good balance of durability, clean aesthetics, and affordability.
